What to expect
At GRLC Peakhurst, we want to be with Jesus throughout our day, become more like Him, and live our lives in His way.
Each Sunday, we gather to worship and learn from God’s Word, but we believe following Jesus is much more than a one-hour church service.
The relationships formed through our morning teas and dinners, Small Groups, and other social activities provide the ideal place to truly belong, even before you may choose to believe.
Are kids welcome?
We are a family church! We love children, and they are welcome at all of our gatherings!
Our River Kids program runs during our 10am church service.
If it’s your first time, our team will collect the following information:
- child’s name
- address
- date of birth
- school year level
- any special instructions for your child (eg. allergies, special needs etc)
- parent/guardian name, contact phone, email
All River Kids leaders and volunteers have completed all the requirements of our Safe Church policy.
What do I wear?
We care about you not what you are wearing… Some dress up and some come in casual attire. We invite you to come just as you are. What matters is that you are here.
What happens after the service?
You might like to allow yourself a few extra minutes after some services to stay and chat.
After our 10am service, some weeks we stick around for tea and coffee. Other weeks we host ‘Community Connect’ with our friends from Georges River Life Care (the charity founded by our church) where our local community are welcomed in to pick up food hampers and spend time together – we even organise activities for the kids. These post-10am-service activities happen on alternating fortnights
Every week, however, after our 5pm service we have dinner together. Sometimes that looks like going out to a local restaurant and sometimes we stay at church to enjoy takeaway together.
You are a very important person to us! We’d love to meet you and answer any questions you may have. So please let us know if it’s your first time here!
Is your premises wheelchair accessible?
Yes! We have many people who attend use walking sticks, walkers, wheelchairs and mobility scooters. Everyone is welcome and we will do everything we can to make you feel comfortable.
Who will be there?
You’ll be greeted by our friendly Connect Teams right from the moment you drive into the car park. If you have any questions, they will be more than happy to help. Look for the people wearing the name lanyards.
Our Connect Teams might give you some more information about our church on your way into the church, which can include a Connect Card. This is our way of getting to know you and connecting you to our church family. Connect Cards can then be returned to the person who gave it to you, posted in the silver letterbox near the main doors, or emailed back to us at info@grlc.org.au.
Where can I park?
We have ample parking on site and in the surrounding streets, as well as disabled spaces and wheelchair access available.
Are your teachings available online?
We do our best to audio record our teachings and upload them into our app as a podcast.
At this time, only our 10am Peakhurst gatherings are live-streamed on a fortnightly basis. The teaching segment of these videos are then uploaded into our app.
All of our teachings can be found via the GRLC Online Hub or on our GRLC Church App.
