We believe that creativity has no bounds and work with extraordinary people, giving voice to their stories and abilities.

WHO WE WORK WITH

Our workshops are designed for adults and children who live with a range of disabilities including profound and multiple learning disabilities and those on the autism spectrum. We work with both verbal and non-verbal participants and those who have limited movement and/or sensory impairment.

We believe the inclusion of carers in our workshops is so important for both the carers and their clients. We have seen these relationships grow and flourish through their joint experience of the creative arts in a fun environment.

We work in partnership to create and deliver our work and welcome enquiries from disability service providers, special schools and theatres.

CREATIVE WORKSHOPS

Our creative workshops are multi-sensory and practical allowing participants to express themselves through the creative arts in a safe and supportive space.

Often workshops are themed and can involve

·     Theatre exercises

·     Original composed music and song

·     Choreographed dance routines

·     Varied sensory experiences through music, lights, sound, textures

·     Costumes, props and imaginative journeys.

SHOWS

Throughout the program of workshops, we are able to grow to understand and learn more about our participants and in time we create and rehearse shows with and for them. We believe the people we work with are unique and want to create opportunities for their stories to be heard and shared. We aim to challenge people’s perceptions of what is possible and create shows that celebrate the uniqueness of this community. OUR IMPACT

We aim to change lives by building confidence, sparking imagination and evoking delight. We measure our impact in relation to transformation, whether it be a substantial shift in confidence or a momentary response to an interaction.

We build evaluation into our programs and aim to increase engagement and socialisation, unlock confidence and celebrate the wonder and uniqueness of those we work with.

The foundation of our work is to uplift a unique and special community of people, motivated by love and grace.
We do lots of different programs but this is my favourite because I see the enthusiasm of each participant. When they come to ArtsLife Access they know that they will get to do a wide range of things. Not just drama but movement, dance, art and they also interact with one another and the facilitators which is really good.’
