Together we can make a big difference!

Since 2018 Georges River Life Care together with organisations, schools and the local community, have been supplying school ready backpacks to kids in the local community who are doing it tough each Christmas. So far we have delivered over 1300 backpacks.

In 2022 we provided 400 backpacks to local schools, and families we support via our Life Care ervices across the Georges River and Liverpool LGA’s.

This is a wonderful opportunity for us to come together and make a big difference to at risk families in our neighbourhoods.

Get your school or workplace involved…

This a great thing to do with your class or in your work place.

Promote it across your school or organisation and actively encourage people to donatethe contents of a backpack or 2! Get competitive! have a prize for the department or class that donates the most.

Get different grades or departments to donate specific things on the list and then have an afternoon of sorting them into bundles ready to deliver to our convenient drop off locations.

Get a team together and come down to the Life centre to help pack more!

I wish we could capture the excitement of the students when they receive abackpack and look at whats inside. It is probably the closest many of themget to experience what other children do at birthdays and Christmas.

How does it work?

Our aim is to encourage individuals and families in the local community to get involved by donating the contents of a pack. If you have kids, have them pick out the items and even put some of their own pocket money/Christmas money towards them. People can donate as many bags as they would like. Volunteers then pack them up and deliver them to the participating schools and distribute them to the children that have been really doing it tough during the year.
