What is included in the ticket price?

The ticket price includes entry for all 3 days of Kids Connect, plus morning tea, take-home craft, and a special gift for each child!

What food and drinks will be provided?

Morning tea will be provided for each child each day.

Please ensure your child brings their own packed lunch and a labelled drink bottle, which can be refilled throughout the day.

Who are the volunteers for Kids Connect?

All of our volunteers are committed attendees of Georges River Life Church.

All Leaders onsite have been screened and inducted appropriately, and, for those 18+, have a verified Working With Children Check. You can check out our extensive Safe Church policies on our website: grlc.org.au/policies-guidelines/

Will there be any offsite excursions?

Children in Years 5 and 6 will have the opportunity to go offsite and walk to the local park (Boundary Reserve Park) with their Leaders.

When you purchase tickets, you will be prompted to give your consent whether you’re happy for your child to go off-site, or not.

What should my kids wear?

There will be much fun to be had with lots of games and activities planned! We encourage children to wear sensible light-weight clothes (t-shirt, shorts, pants and/or skirt) and enclosed shoes. Circus-style dress-ups are also encouraged!

Can other siblings attend?

As long as they are currently enrolled in school, between Kindergarten to Year 6 – they are welcome!

Unfortunately, we cannot cater for toddlers, pre-schoolers, or children in Year 7 or above at this event.

Is there onsite parking?

Yes! Let our friendly parking helpers know you are keen to stay for a coffee in the parent area so they can park you in the right spot.

Is your premises wheelchair accessible?

Yes! We have ramp access into our foyer and auditoriums. We also have a dedicated toilet for those who need extra space.

How will you care for children with allergies or medical conditions?

When you purchase tickets, you will be prompted to let us know if your child has any allergies. You will then be sent a more detailed email, including a link to a First Aid Plan template. Please complete this template and either email it back to us or bring it with you on the first day.

What happens in an emergency?

There will be multiple First Aid Officers and Fire Wardens appointed and present each day during Kids Connect.

In the case of an emergency, our First Aid Officers and/or Fire Wardens will follow appropriate protocols to keep all children and volunteers safe, and will notify parents as required.

Is this a Christian event?

Yes, we will be teaching about Jesus in the small groups and through the dramas.

INFORMATION FOR VOLUNTEERS

We are excited that you are interested in being part of our Kids Connect family as a volunteer!

As Kids Connect is a ministry program of Georges River Life Church, volunteers are required to be a part of our church community.

Kids Connect prioritises the safety of our children, which means volunteers will be required to:

  • complete Safe Church requirements such as a screening questionnaire and code of conduct
  • attend appropriate meetings and training for their role
  • Have a cleared Working With Children Check (if they are over 18 years old).

Whatever your gifting, passion or time capacity may be, there is a place for you at Kids Connect!

Please let us know how you want to be involved using our quick form:

Serving at Kids Connect looks like:

  • Serve beforehand in the lead up – lots of this can be done at home! (e.g. administration, decorations, craft preparation)
  • Serve in one or more areas of the week, as little as one hour (e.g. coffee team, sign in, prepare morning tea)
  • Serve as a small group leader. These are our kids’ leaders who are full-time and get the privilege of running (or assisting if you are a teen) their own small group and facilitate each day’s element. You can be as young as Year 7 to help in this role.
Please note applications for small group leaders close on Wednesday 11 September.
