DOMESTIC VIOLENCE RECOVERY

Supporting families impacted by crisis with practical care, connection, and pathways toward stability and hope.

Domestic and family violence impacts individuals and families across every community. At Georges River Life Care, we are committed to walking alongside those affected, with a particular focus on long-term recovery and restoration.

We are not a crisis response service. Instead, we provide a safe and supportive environment where individuals and families can begin to rebuild their lives beyond immediate crisis. Through a coordinated, multidisciplinary approach, our team offers ongoing support that addresses the complex emotional, practical, and relational impacts of domestic violence.

Our goal is to create pathways toward stability, independence, and renewed wellbeing—ensuring that no one has to navigate recovery alone.

Case Work Support

Our qualified case workers provide personalised, ongoing support tailored to each individual or family. This includes safety planning, advocacy, and practical assistance such as navigating housing, financial hardship, and access to essential services. Case workers walk alongside clients over time—helping them set goals, build confidence, and take meaningful steps toward independence and recovery.

Legal Support

We offer a fortnightly legal clinic in partnership with Horizons Family Law. This free service provides access to professional legal advice in a safe and supportive environment. Support includes guidance on family law matters such as Apprehended Violence Orders (AVOs), parenting arrangements, separation, and navigating the legal system—helping individuals understand their rights and make informed decisions.

Community Connect

Recovery is not just practical—it is deeply relational. Through Community Connect, we provide a safe, welcoming space where individuals and families can reconnect with others in their community. Held over a shared meal, this program fosters belonging, reduces isolation, and creates opportunities for people to engage with others in a way that is safe, respectful, and dignified.
